digital urban exploration

wanderer

The Wanderer Project encourages urban exploration by enriching the means of interaction with the city. This is achieved digitally by offering an application available for mobile and desktop platforms. The application contains information about all buildings found in the 98 protected areas of Bucharest, providing details about each one. The functionalities differ based on the platform on which the application runs.

WANDERER DESKTOP (Windows, macOS)

The desktop version offers an aerial perspective over the urban fabric of the protected areas of Bucharest. It provides information about each building, such as the year of construction, the architect's name and the architectural style. The application can be used for quick identification of buildings classified as historical monuments, offering numerous filters for easily visualizing the built heritage.

WANDERER MOBILE (Android, iOS)

In the mobile version, the application reads the user's location and serves as a pocket architectural guide, encompassing all functionalities found in the desktop version. It encourages walking with the purpose of exploring the built heritage, offers route suggestions based on applied filters, visually marks objectives of historical importance and can be configured to send notifications based on the presence of a certain type of monument in the user's proximity.
