The Wanderer project encourages urban exploration by enriching the ways people interact with the city. This is achieved digitally through a mobile app available on various platforms. The app contains information about all the buildings located in the central areas of Bucharest, offering details about each one.

Upon entering the platform, the user is greeted by a white, three-dimensional map of the chosen city. Currently, Wanderer covers Bucharest, with development underway for other cities.

The app locates the user and allows interaction with all buildings around them. Interacting with a building involves tapping it on the screen, which opens a window displaying information related to architectural general knowledge.

Users can leave their geo-located area and navigate within the app to any other part of the city that interests them. They can use the app to find all Neo-Romanian style buildings in their area (or any other style from a list of 22 options), visually identify architectural periods that shaped the city, or explore whether there are buildings classified as historical monuments near their location.

It has never been easier to learn about the building in front of you, whether you are in the city or at home.

But Wanderer is not just an urban encyclopedia. Wanderer is an urban game — and we’ll be sharing more about this aspect in the coming months.
